Nestled within leafy East Melbourne, the brief for this heritage renovation was to create a series of rich interior spaces that flow seamlessly into one another. East Melbourne Residence is both a sensitive reflection of its Victorian heritage and a joyful response to the residents – and their playful approach to design.

Drawing inspiration from the building’s original architecture, heritage elements from the 1864 build are captured with an integrated approach between the contemporary and the existing. Arched windows that line the exterior of the building provide a strong foundation for the interconnectedness throughout.
